so theres a local AMA fly-in about 45 mins from me next month and ive never been to one of these things. i mostly just fly alone at a field near my house and never really thought about going to group events but a buddy mentioned it and now im curious. do people actually help each other out at these or is it more like everyone just does their own thing? also not sure if my setup is good enough to show up with, i only have a mini 3 pro and everyone there probably has like massive cinewhoops and race quads and stuff. feels a bit intimidating honestly

dude just go, seriously. i was nervous at my first one too and it ended up being super chill. nobody cares what you fly, i showed up with a beat up freestyle quad once and half the people there were flying park flyers and old school planes. the AMA crowd especially tends to skew older and pretty welcoming. you might end up talking to someone for two hours about LiPo batteries without even meaning to lol

mini 3 is fine. i see those at every event i go to. people bring everything from tiny whoops to like 7 inch long range builds so dont stress about that part. only thing id say is check if they have a specific frequency or channel plan because sometimes at bigger gatherings theres actual coordination for video frequencies so you dont step on eachother. most fly-ins post that info ahead of time
