Step-by-step guide: Flying your drone legally in the US for the first time

  • Members

Just got my first drone (DJI Mini 4 Pro) and want to make sure I do everything by the book. I've been reading about FAA rules but there's a lot of conflicting info online. Can someone break down the exact steps I need to follow before my first flight?

I know I need to register it and take some kind of test, but I'm seeing mentions of TRUST, Part 107, Remote ID, LAANC, and a bunch of other acronyms that are confusing me.

I just want to fly in my neighborhood park for fun - nothing commercial. What's the minimum I legally need to do?
