mini 4 pro firmware bricked my RC2 controller somehow

ok so this is a mess. pushed the latest firmware update last night because i was heading out early this morning and wanted everything current. the drone updated fine, no issues. but the RC2 just kind of died halfway through its update ? screen went black, sat there for like 20 minutes, restarted itself and now it boots to the DJI logo and just hangs there. wont connect to the drone, wont show up in the DJI Fly app on my phone.

tried holding the power button combos i found online, tried the force restart thing where you hold power for like 9 seconds, nothing. DJI fly on my phone doesnt even recognize it when i plug it in via usb-c. i have a shoot tomorrow afternoon which is looking increasingly sketchy right now lol. anyone dealt with this or know if theres a way to flash it manually without going through the app

this happened to me with an RC-N1 not the RC2 but similar situation. the fix for me was using the DJI Assistant 2 app on desktop, plugging the controller in while it was powered off, and letting assistant 2 detect it. sometimes the controller shows up in a kind of recovery mode even when the screen is stuck. worth trying if you havent already ? make sure youre using a data cable not just a charge cable, that tripped me up the first time.

if assistant 2 cant see it at all then yeah youre probably looking at sending it in which is the worst case scenario timing wise. might be worth calling DJI support directly and explaining you have a shoot, sometimes they can do faster turnarounds if you push a bit

this is exactly why i wait like two weeks before touching any new firmware, let other people find the problems first. not trying to pile on but yeah this comes up every single major update cycle with DJI controllers. hope the assistant 2 thing works for you
