whats actually the best trick to learn first if youre coming from cinematic

so i've been flying mostly cinematic stuff for about a year, like smooth cruising, proximity stuff, the occasional diving shot. decided i wanna get into freestyle properly because honestly watching guys like Rotor Riot just makes it look too fun to ignore. but i genuinely dont know where to start with actual tricks. tried a roll and it was fine but like, what do people usually build up from. powerloops seem terrifying but maybe thats the goal idk. my quad is a 5inch with a pretty conservative tune rn so maybe that needs to change too before i even think about this

rolls and flips first, sounds boring but you gotta get your muscle memory down for which way everything goes. then move to split s because its super practical and you use it all the time linking moves together. powerloops can wait, they punish bad timing way more than people expect when theyre starting out. also yeah your tune probably needs more punchier rates if youre used to cinematic slow stuff, freestyle at cinematic rates feels horrible

honestly just go for whatever looks fun to you in the sim first. velocidrone or liftoff, spend a few hours just messing around and youll figure out pretty fast what clicks and what doesnt. trying to follow a progression ladder is fine but half the time you learn weird stuff out of order and it still works out
