been running an iFlight Nazgul5 V3 for about a year and its been mostly fine but i snapped an arm last month and while i had it apart i was kind of reminded how much i dislike the stack layout on that frame. just feels cramped and the ESC signal wires are a pain to route cleanly. a friend has been pushing me toward Diatone, specifically the Roma F5 V3, says the build quality is noticeably better but im skeptical because iFlight has always seemed pretty solid to me and i wonder if its just grass is greener type stuff.

anyone actually run both and have a real opinion? not looking for spec sheet comparisons just want to know which one actually holds up to regular bando flying and the occasional hard slam into concrete. also curious if either brand has gotten worse or better in the last year or so with QC because that used to be a real issue with iFlight a couple years back

ran a Diatone MXC Taycan for two seasons and thought it was great until the carbon started delaminating around one of the motor mounts, which was annoying. switched to an iFlight Titan DC5 and honestly prefer it. i think both brands have their QC lottery moments and you kind of just have to accept that at this price point. the Roma F5 does have a nicer stack area though i'll give it that, the Nazgul always felt like they designed the frame and then figured out where to put the electronics afterward

if youre already comfortable with iFlight ecosystem and have spare parts sitting around id probably just stick with it unless you have a specific reason to switch. changing frames mid-season always ends up being more of a project than you expect

diatone QC has definately improved from what it was like 2-3 years ago but i still see people getting frames with slightly misaligned motor holes occasionally. iFlight isnt perfect either though. tbh for hard bando flying ive always thought the frame material matters less than how you tune your rates and whether you hit things with the props or the frame lol. that said the Roma does feel more solid in the hands, theres something about the carbon thickness they use
