so ive been flying my mini 3 pro for about 6 months now with zero issues and then all of a sudden last week it started dropping the video feed and sometimes full RC disconnect for like 2-3 seconds at a time. happens mostly when i get past maybe 400 feet out, sometimes closer. its not a range thing because i used to push it way further with no problems.

im on the RC-N1 controller and i checked the antennas, theyre oriented correctly. signal bars look fine right up until the drop happens then it just tanks for a second and comes back. happened 3 times in one flight yesterday and i was maybe 150 feet up and not even that far out. starting to wonder if something changed in my area or if theres something wrong with the unit itself.

has anyone else had this happen out of nowhere like this? the drone itself seems totally fine mechanically, no crashes or anything. just this weird intermittent connection garbage that started for no obvious reason.

that pattern sounds really familiar actually. check if theres any new cell towers or 5g infrastructure that went up near your usual flying spots. i had the exact same thing happen last year ? flying a spot i'd done dozens of times and suddenly started getting these random dropouts that werent there before. turned out a carrier had activated a new 5g node like half a mile away and it was just hammering the 2.4 band in ways that werent obvious until you were actually in the air.

you can download something like WiFi Analyzer on android and just walk around your launch spot and see what the RF environment looks like. if 2.4 is congested to hell thats probably your answer. the RC-N1 does switch to 5.8 automatically but the transitions arent always smooth and if 5.8 is also getting hit youre basically just having a bad time. might be worth trying a different location entirely just to see if the problem follows you or stays at that spot.

could also just be the RC-N1 cable if youre using a phone mount setup. those connectors are kind of trash and if yours is getting a little worn the phone connection can flicker and the app interprets it as signal loss even when the actual radio link is fine. ive replaced like three of those cables at this point lol. not saying thats definitely it but worth swapping the cable before you spiral too hard into interference troubleshooting
