how do you even learn to cork properly

  • Members

been flying freestyle for maybe 8 months, comfortable with rolls and flips, doing some split-s and stuff but corks just completely wreck me every time. i understand the concept like intellectually i get that youre mixing yaw into a flip but when im actually flying my brain just freezes and i either get a flat flip or i yaw too much and it looks like garbage

is there a specific way people practice this or did you guys just throw yourself at it until it clicked. simulator helps but my sim feels different enough from real life that im not sure im building the right muscle memory

the sim thing is real, took me a while to accept that sim and real life wont feel the same but the muscle memory still transfers more than you think. for corks specifically i just did them over and over in a big open field with lots of height so i had time to recover. the yaw timing just kind of clicks one day its hard to explain

honestly same boat as you not gonna lie. what helped me a little was slowing everything way down in betaflight, like lowering rates temporarily so the inputs werent so twitchy and i could actually feel what each stick was doing in the mix. once i kind of understood the feeling i bumped rates back up. no idea if thats the right way to learn it but it worked for me. still cant do clean corks on demand though lol
