so i was scrolling through my feed this morning and saw DJI dropped some info about their next mini series and honestly the price point caught me off guard. like i expected it to be higher given whats been happening with tariffs and all the import stuff going on. im not gonna pretend i understand all the trade policy stuff but it definitely seems like things are getting more expensive across the board for anything coming out of china right now.

anyway curious if anyone here has been following the news more closely than me. also heard something about the FAA potentially updating the remote ID enforcement stuff again but i couldnt find a solid source on that, was just something someone mentioned in another thread. anyone know if thats actually happening or just rumor at this point

yeah i saw that too. honestly the pricing wasnt as bad as i thought it would be but i think thats partly because they tweaked the feature set compared to the previous gen. the obstacle avoidance situation is a bit different from what people were expecting based on the leaks. as for the remote ID enforcement thing, ive been keeping an eye on the FAA site and i havent seen anything official yet but there was some chatter on reddit about rulemaking comments being reviewed. take that for what its worth

im pretty new to all this so maybe i dont have the context but is the remote ID thing something that affects people who just fly casually in their backyard? thats mostly what i do and i just got my first drone last month and have no idea if i need to be worried about registering or whatever
