so this has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. im flying my mini 3 pro and it just randomly drops connection, sometimes for like 2 seconds sometimes long enough that it goes into return to home which is fine i guess but still annoying. it doesnt happen every flight, maybe like 1 in 3 or 4.

the weird thing is it seems worse at a specific park near my house but i flew it at the coast last weekend and had zero issues. i checked the rc-n1 signal strength and it looks fine right before it drops, no warning or anything. just goes dark on the screen then reconnects. im on the latest firmware.

anyone dealt with this before? not sure if its interference from something local or maybe a hardware thing. i really dont want to send it in if i dont have to.

that park thing is a big clue honestly. certain areas are just absolutely saturated with 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz traffic, wifi from houses, bluetooth, other RC stuff. DJI's ocusync or whatever they're calling it now does a decent job of frequency hopping but it's not magic, if the band is congested enough it'll still stutter.

try switching between 2.4 and 5.8 manually in the DJI fly app settings, dont leave it on auto. sometimes auto makes weird choices. also check if theres a cell tower or power substation near that park, those can cause all kinds of grief depending on placement. ive seen people track down their disconnect issues to a single apartment complex with like 40 wifi routers stacked on each other.

had almost the exact same thing happen with mine. turned out my phone was the problem, it kept trying to switch between wifi networks in the background and that was messing with the connection through the app. turned off wifi on my phone entirely during flights and the drops basically stopped. probably not your issue if youre using the RC controller but worth mentioning in case.
