so ive been using the Agras T40 for about 8 months now doing contract work for a few soybean and corn growers in my area and overall its been solid but i keep running into this issue where i get these weird dry strips on certain field sections ? not every run, just occasionally and mostly on irregularly shaped fields where the RTK is having to recalculate mid-path.

my flow rate is set to auto and im flying at 5m/s with 3.5m boom width overlap set to 15%. field sizes are usually 40-120 acres. ive gone back and checked the logs and the boom pressure looks consistent but the strips are still showing up when i do thermal imaging passes a few days after to check uptake.

wondering if anyone else has seen this and whether it's a mission planning issue or if theres something i should be looking at on the nozzle side. ive replaced the diaphragm pump once already but that was for a different reason.

yeah i had almost the exact same thing happening last season, ended up being my terrain follow wasn't reacting fast enough on fields with subtle elevation changes ? like even a 1.5m rise over a long run was enough to mess with droplet distribution because the drone was climbing and the effective swath width was shifting. bumped my terrain follow sensitivity up and slowed down to 4m/s on anything that wasnt pancake flat and the strips basically went away.

also worth double checking your nozzle wear ? flat fan tips degrade faster than people expect especially if you're running anything with adjuvants. i swap mine every 40-50 tank loads now just to be safe.

not on the T40 but i run a T20P and had coverage issues that turned out to be the mission planning software not handling concave polygon fields well ? like the drone was cutting corners on reentrant angles and the overlap wasnt what i thought it was on paper. had to manually break those fields into sub-zones which is annoying but it fixed it. might be worth checking if the problem fields have any weird shapes.
