passed my 107 yesterday, some thoughts for anyone studying

finally got it done after putting it off for like six months lol. scored an 85 which im happy with honestly. the airspace questions were not as bad as I expected but the weather stuff kind of got me, there were a few questions about METARs and TAFs that I wasnt super confident on even after studying. the chart reading stuff I actually enjoyed once I got the hang of it, sectionals look intimidating but once you understand what the magenta vs blue airports mean and how to read the class D and B airspace rings it clicks pretty fast. what surprised me was a few questions about crew resource management and loading/performance that felt really plane pilot-y and not super relevant to drones but whatever, theyre in there so you gotta know them. used Pilot Institute mainly and did the free FAA sample tests. testing center was totally chill, just a computer in a cubicle, no one bothered me

congrats man. the METAR stuff is honestly annoying because you really do need to memorize those abbreviations, theres no shortcut. I remember staring at a practice METAR for like 20 minutes the first time thinking this is insane. but yeah it comes eventually

good to hear, I have mine scheduled for next month and the weather section is exactly what im dreading. did you find the Pilot Institute explanations on TAFs and METARs enough or did you have to go look up extra stuff? asking because ive watched their videos twice and still feel shaky on it
