so this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its a settings thing or something wrong with the unit itself. mid flight, usually around 300-400 meters out, the video feed just drops. not a full disconnect like it doesnt RTH or anything, the telemetry still seems ok but the live view goes black and then comes back after like 10-15 seconds. happens pretty consistently when im flying over water or open fields, less so in suburban areas weirdly.

ive tried switching between the frequencies already and it helped a little but not completely. running the latest firmware as of last month. controller antenna position ive been messing with too. starting to think maybe its interference from something but i cant figure out what. anyone seen this before or know what to actually check?

the antenna angle on the EVO II controller is something a lot of people get wrong, the signal actually propogates from the flat face of the antenna not the tip so you want the flat faces pointed toward the drone not the tips. sounds like you might already know that but worth double checking because it made a noticeable difference for me at distance. also if you haven't already try setting it to lock on 2.4ghz only instead of auto, the auto switching can sometimes cause exactly the kind of brief dropout you're describing while it decides which band to use.

had something similar last summer, turned out my controller needed a recalibration through the Autel Sky app. there's a connection quality page in the diagnostics section i think, forget exactly where but poke around in there. also check if there's a tablet or phone connected via USB vs wifi because that can mess with signal prioritization in weird ways. mine was rock solid after the recalibration honestly.

also slightly off topic but if you're flying over water a lot, watch the humidity readings in your area. had a guy in our local group convinced his EVO II was broken and it was just consistent high humidity days causing weird RF behavior. probably not your issue but just something i remembered.
