so ive been doing mapping work for a couple local farms and a small construction site on the side, mostly using DroneDeploy on a Mavic 3 Enterprise and its been fine honestly but one of my clients is asking for more detailed outputs and their agronomist keeps mentioning Pix4Dfields specifically and im not sure if i should bother switching or just upsell them on what i can already produce
the thing is Pix4D is significantly more expensive if you go the full desktop route and i dont have enough consistent contract work to justify the annual cost right now. DroneDeploy does everything i need for orthomosaics and basic elevation models but im starting to wonder if the point cloud quality is actually noticeably worse or if thats just marketing from Pix4D side
anyone switched between these two or run them side by side on the same dataset? curious if the outputs are genuinely that different at ground sampling distances around 2-3cm
