so ive been flying my mini 3 pro for about 4 months now and up until recently it was totally fine, no issues. but the last few weeks i keep getting these random signal drops, usually around 300-400m out. it'll just flash the disconnect warning and then reconnect a second or two later but its starting to freak me out especially when im over water or further from shore.

my RC-N1 controller shows full bars right up until it drops, then boom, comes back. doesnt seem like a range issue per se because it happens at the same distance regardless of direction. i fly at a park near my house and there's a cell tower maybe half a km away ? i never thought much about it before but now im wondering if thats the culprit. tried switching to 2.4ghz manually instead of letting it auto-select and the drops seem slightly less frequent? hard to tell though.

anyone dealt with this kind of thing, like consistent disconnect at a predictable distance? is it worth trying a different flying location to rule out the tower or is there something i should be checking on the drone itself?

cell towers can definitely cause this, especially if you're lining up with them behind you or the drone is in the direction of the tower. 2.4ghz is generally better in RF-heavy environments even though it has slightly less range theoretically. the auto mode sometimes picks 5.8 which is faster to handshake but gets stomped on easier by other interference.

one thing i'd check ? is your phone or any other device connected to wifi while you're flying? some people dont realize their phone is fighting the controller for bandwidth or the wifi radio is adding noise. sounds dumb but i've seen it cause exactly the kind of intermittent drops you're describing. also worth checking if your phone has any background apps hammering the connection during flight. i'd fly somewhere clean first before assuming hardware fault though.

had something similar with my air 2s near a sports stadium, took me forever to figure out it was the stadium wifi and whatever else they run in there bleeding into everything. moved like 800m away and it was perfect. definitely try a different spot first before going down a rabbit hole on settings.
