so i was going through the FAA updates this morning and apparently the Remote ID enforcement is actually starting to get taken more seriously now, like they're actually issuing fines and not just warnings. i've been flying with a broadcast module on my older quads for a while but i know a lot of guys in my local club still havent bothered and honestly i'm a little worried for them.

also saw something about the EU tightening up their C-class requirements again and some manufacturers are scrambling to get certified before the deadline. not sure how that affects people importing stuff from overseas but it seems like it could get messy. anyone been following this more closely than me? i feel like i only catch half the news when it trickles through reddit or whatever

yeah the Remote ID thing has been coming for a while honestly, i think a lot of people just assumed it would stay as a soft enforcement situation forever. the fines are no joke though, seen some numbers thrown around that are pretty steep for what amounts to just not having a $50 module. the club i fly with did a whole session on it back in the fall and i'd say maybe half the guys actually updated their stuff afterward. the other half are still in denial lol

the EU stuff is messier imo because the C-class labeling means if youre buying something that isnt officially sold in your country you might be flying in a category you cant legally operate in. its kind of a nightmare to keep track of. DJI has been pretty good about getting certs but some of the smaller manufacturers are just... not gonna bother for certain markets
