so my phantom 4 took a tumble last week nothing major just clipped a tree branch but now the gimbal is doing this stuttering thing whenever i try to tilt the camera up. it works fine going down and sideways but anytime i push up on the right stick it starts shaking like crazy

ive tried recalibrating it twice and checked all the connections everything looks fine physically. battery was fully charged too. the weird part is it only happens when tilting up, never down

is this something i can fix myself or do i need to send it back to dji? really dont want to be without it for weeks but the shake makes any video unusable

had similar issue with my mavic after a hard landing. turned out one of the tiny screws on the pitch motor was loose, barely visible but enough to cause that exact stuttering when tilting up. check the gimbal housing real close with a magnifying glass if you have one

also try the manual gimbal calibration not just the auto one, sometimes that helps reset whatever got knocked out of alignment

Ugh this exact same thing happened to me! The up tilt shake is usually the pitch motor getting stressed because something got bent slightly in the crash. Mine was the ribbon cable that got pinched

Before you send it back try turning it on without the gimbal clamp attached and see if the shaking is still there during startup. if it shakes even during the self test then yeah probably internal damage. But if it only shakes when you command it up then might just need to clean the contacts or reseat something
