hey everyone, so ive never flown a drone before and dont really know anything about them but i want to get one to maybe take some photos and videos when i go camping or whatever. my budget is probably around 300-400 max but id prefer to spend less if possible since i dont even know if ill like it

i see people talking about DJI alot but there seems to be so many models and i have no idea whats the difference between them all. also saw some youtube videos about cheaper options like holy stone but not sure if those are just toys or actually decent

basically looking for something thats not gonna crash into a tree on my first flight and has a decent camera, any suggestions would be great

honestly for your budget the DJI Neo 2 is probably your best bet, its like 250 bucks and super beginner friendly. has obstacle avoidance so you wont crash it right away lol. the camera is pretty solid for starting out and you can literally launch it from your hand

avoid the really cheap stuff under 100 dollars, learned that the hard way with some random amazon brand that broke after like 3 flights. if you want to save money maybe look at the regular DJI Neo but the 2 is worth the extra money imo

i started with a Holy Stone HS175D last year and its actually not bad for learning, way cheaper than DJI stuff. flight time isnt amazing maybe 20 minutes but it helped me figure out if i actually enjoyed flying before spending more money

that said if you can afford it go with what the other guy suggested, DJI really is easier to fly and has better support. just dont get the mini 4 pro or anything like that for your first drone, way overkill and expensive if you end up not liking the hobby
