so ive been flying for about 2 years now, got my part 107 last month and people keep asking me to do real estate photos and inspections. honestly thinking about making this more than just a hobby but i have no clue about the business side of things

like do i need a LLC or can i just freelance it? what about insurance - is that really as expensive as everyone says? and how do you even find clients besides word of mouth because that seems to dry up pretty quick around here

also pricing is totally confusing me. seen people charge anywhere from 150 to 800 for real estate stuff and i dont know if thats per hour or per property or what

Been running my drone service for 3 years now and honestly the insurance was the biggest shock. Started around 1200 a year for basic liability coverage but worth every penny when you consider what one accident could cost you. LLC is probably smart too for protecting your personal assets

For clients i started with craigslist and facebook groups but networking with real estate agents has been way better long term. Go to their open houses, leave some business cards, maybe offer to do a few cheap jobs to build your portfolio. Real estate pricing varies a lot by market but i usually do 200-350 per property depending on size and how many shots they want

dude im in the exact same boat! got my license in january and have done maybe 6 paid jobs so far. the pricing thing is driving me crazy because everyone seems to charge different amounts for the same work

i ended up getting a business license through my state website for like 50 bucks and opened a separate bank account. haven't done the LLC thing yet but probably should. insurance quotes ive gotten range from 800 to 2000 depending on coverage so shopping around definitely helps
