been using my phone screen for fpv this whole time but starting to think about getting one of those bright monitors everyone talks about. mostly fly during golden hour and sometimes have trouble seeing details on my phone when the sun hits it wrong

do you guys actually notice a big difference in being able to judge focus and exposure while flying or is it more about convenience? looking at the crystalsky 7.85 or maybe the dji smart controller but not sure if its worth dropping that much cash

honestly once you go to a dedicated monitor you cant go back. the brightness difference is huge and you can actually see what youre doing in direct sunlight. plus the bigger screen makes it way easier to check if your shots are actually in focus. i went with the crystalsky 5.5 and dont regret it at all even though it was expensive

depends what kind of flying you do really. if youre just doing casual stuff then your phone is probably fine but if youre trying to get professional looking footage then yeah a good monitor makes a difference. the smart controller is nice because its all in one but the screen still isnt as bright as something like crystalsky. also consider battery life - those bright screens drain power fast
