been doing roofing work for a couple years now with my mavic 2 pro but honestly the camera just isnt cutting it anymore for detail shots. clients want to see every little crack and nail pop and im having to get way too close which makes me nervous around power lines and stuff

thinking about upgrading to something with a better zoom or maybe thermal? what are you guys running for commercial roof work. budget is flexible but not looking to drop 15k on a matrice or anything crazy like that

i switched to the mavic 3 enterprise thermal last year and its been solid. the zoom is decent for staying back from obstacles and the thermal overlay helps spot moisture issues that you cant see otherwise. not cheap but way less than a full matrice setup

honestly for just roof inspections you might want to look at the autel evo 2 pro rtk. ive been using one for about 6 months now and the camera quality is really good, plus if you need survey grade accuracy later the rtk is already there. thermal would be nice but adds a lot to the cost and most of my clients dont ask for it
