so ive got this construction company thats been using me for progress videos and now they want all the raw footage too, not just the edited stuff. they said their internal team wants to make their own cuts for different purposes. never had this request before - do you guys charge extra for handing over raw files? seems like more work organizing everything

absolutely charge extra. raw files are valuable and organizing/transferring that much data is time consuming. i do base rate + 50% for raw delivery. also make sure your contract covers usage rights because they could technically do whatever they want with those files

yeah this happened to me once and i didnt charge extra... big mistake. took me like 3 hours to sort through everything and upload to their dropbox. now i just include it in my initial quote if they mention wanting raws upfront, usually adds another 150-200 to the job
