anyone here actually running a legit business? like how did you get your first clients and what do you even charge for basic real estate shots. also the insurance thing is confusing me - do i really need special coverage or can i just add it to my homeowners somehow

been doing this commercially for about 2 years now. first clients came from just posting on local facebook groups honestly - real estate agents are always looking for cheap drone shots. started at like 150 per property shoot which was probably too low but you gotta build up that portfolio somehow

for insurance yeah you definitely need commercial coverage, homeowners wont touch it. i pay about 800 a year through a company that specializes in drone coverage. dont skip this part trust me

biggest mistake i made was pricing too low at first. charge what youre worth even if you dont have tons of experience yet. also get your LLC set up before you start taking money - keeps your personal stuff separate if something goes wrong
