trying to figure out the business setup thing and getting different advice from everyone. some people saying just do 1099 contractor work to start, others saying LLC is the way to go from day one

im mostly thinking small stuff like inspections and maybe some wedding work. not planning anything crazy but want to do this right. whats the liability difference really and how much extra hassle is the LLC paperwork

also saw someone mention you need different types of insurance depending on how you structure it but cant find clear info anywhere

LLC all the way dude. costs like 100 bucks to set up in most states and protects all your personal assets if someone decides to sue you. with drone work theres always that risk of property damage or worse so why take the chance

1099 work is fine but you're still personally liable for everything. LLC keeps your house and car safe if something goes sideways on a job

depends on what state your in too. some places make LLCs super easy others are more complicated. i started as just sole proprietor doing 1099 work because i was only doing like one job a month but switched to LLC after my first year when things picked up
