avata props keep coming loose mid flight?? losing my mind here

  • Members

so this has been happening like 3 times now where im cruising along and suddenly the avata starts wobbling like crazy and i have to land asap. checked the props afterwards and theyre barely hand tight. im tightening them pretty good before each flight but they keep backing off somehow. using the stock props that came with it, maybe 40 hours of flight time total. anyone else having this issue or am i doing something wrong with the install

had the same thing happen to me twice before i figured it out. you gotta make sure the motor shaft is totally clean when you put the props on, any dirt or oil will make them slip. also dont over tighten them but make sure you feel that little click when they seat properly. i started checking them after every few batteries just to be safe

This happened to my buddy's avata constantly until he switched to aftermarket props. The stock ones seem to have some tolerance issues or something, some are tighter than others even brand new. Might be worth grabbing a set of gemfan or hq props to see if that fixes it. Also check if your motors are running hot, that can cause the plastic to expand and loosen up
