so this is embarrassing but i was flying my air 2s over this lake in colorado and the wind just grabbed it. tried using find my drone but the gps cut out right before it went down somewhere in the trees. spent 3 hours looking for it with no luck. anyone have tips for actually finding a lost drone in thick forest? or am i just out $800

oof that sucks man. have you tried going back at night with a flashlight? sometimes you can spot the led lights if the battery is still alive. also check drone recovery facebook groups for that area, people are surprisingly helpful

this is exactly why i dont take my expensive drones on vacation anymore. just got a mini se for travel stuff, if i lose it whatever. colorado winds are no joke though, learned that the hard way on my first trip there
