autel vs dji reliability long term?

  • Members

been flying dji for 3 years now but getting tired of all the restrictions and constant firmware updates that seem to break more than they fix. looking at the autel evo lite+ as my next drone but cant find much real world info on how they hold up after a year or two of regular use

anyone here switched from dji to autel? any major issues or things you miss? the specs look good on paper but specs dont tell you if the gimbal starts acting up after 6 months or whatever

ive had my evo nano+ for about 18 months now and its been solid. no gimbal issues or anything like that. the app isnt quite as polished as dji fly but it gets the job done. only real complaint is customer support is slower to respond than dji but thats probably because theyre smaller

oh and the obstacle avoidance isnt as good as my old air 2s was but still decent enough

I made the switch last year and honestly Im mixed on it. The autel flies great and image quality is comparable but i do miss some of the intelligent flight modes from dji. also finding accessories is harder - way more options for dji stuff on amazon and everywhere else. if youre mostly just flying manual and dont care about all the automated features then autel is fine but something to consider
