5 inch build advice - frame keeps cracking

  • Solution

so ive been through 3 frames now on my 5 inch build and they keep cracking around the motor mounts. running 2207 motors on a cheapish carbon frame i got off banggood but wondering if its just bad carbon or if im doing something wrong with the build. the cracks always start near the rear motor screws and spread from there

anyone else had this issue or should i just bite the bullet and get a better frame like a armattan or something

yeah those cheap frames are hit or miss, had the same thing happen on a couple builds. if you're flying hard or crashing a lot the thin carbon just cant take it. armattan frames are solid but pricey, ive had good luck with the iflight frames too and theyre not as expensive. also make sure your motor screws arent overtightened, that can cause stress fractures

What thickness carbon is the frame? If its under 4mm on the arms thats probably your problem right there. I learned this the hard way too, went through like 4 cheap frames before someone told me to get something with proper thick arms
