pix4d processing times getting ridiculous lately

  • Members

anyone else noticing pix4d taking forever to process stuff recently? i used to get my 200 image surveys done in like 3 hours on my desktop but now its taking 6+ hours for the same number of shots. running a 3080 with 32gb ram so hardware shouldnt be the bottleneck. updated to the latest version last month and thats when i started noticing it

wondering if they changed something in the processing pipeline or if my settings got messed up somehow. same flight patterns, same overlap percentages, just way slower now

yeah ive been seeing this too actually. thought it was just my machine acting up but maybe not. are you using the cloud processing or desktop? i switched back to desktop version after the cloud kept timing out on larger jobs

could be the new AI features they added? i know they integrated some machine learning stuff for better point cloud generation but that might be eating up more processing time. you can probably disable some of that in the advanced settings if you dont need the extra accuracy

also check if windows defender is scanning your temp folder while pix4d is working, that slowed mine down by like 2x until i excluded it
