been reading about leading lines in photography and trying to apply it to my drone shots but im struggling to find good examples when flying. i mean on the ground its easy - roads, fences, rivers whatever. but from up high everything looks so different

do you guys actively look for leading lines when youre scouting locations or does it just happen naturally? maybe im overthinking this but would love to hear how others approach composition from aerial perspective. sometimes i feel like my shots are just random pretty pictures without much structure to them

coastlines work really well for leading lines from above, especially if theres a curved beach or rocky outcrop. also train tracks, hiking trails, even just the way light falls across fields can create natural lines. dont force it though - sometimes the best shots are the ones where you just capture an interesting pattern or texture

honestly i think aerial photography follows different rules than ground photography. leading lines are nice but from up high you get these amazing patterns and symmetries that you cant see from ground level. try focusing on those instead of forcing traditional composition rules. some of my favorite shots are just abstract patterns in farmland or urban layouts
