weird question but how do you even find clients for freelance work

so ive had my part 107 for like 6 months now and keep seeing posts about people doing commercial work but honestly have no idea how to even start finding clients. do you just call up construction companies or what? tried posting on facebook marketplace but mostly get people wanting wedding videos for like $50 which seems ridiculous. im decent with the flying part but the business side is confusing me. anyone remember how they got their first paying gig?

honestly my first job was just luck - neighbor knew i had a drone and his buddy needed some shots of his property for selling. but after that i started reaching out to local real estate agents, just sending emails with some sample work. took forever to get responses but eventually a few started using me regularly. also joined the local chamber of commerce which helped with networking

dont waste time on facebook marketplace lol. I started by literally driving around looking for construction sites and walking up to the site managers. sounds scary but most are curious about drone work. Also check if your area has any inspection companies - they're always looking for pilots and the pay is usually better than real estate stuff
