been flying for about 6 months now and keep seeing these landing pads everywhere. like the pgytech ones and whatnot. are they actually useful or just another thing companies want us to buy? i mean i just land on grass or concrete most of the time and seems fine but maybe im missing something

honestly depends where you fly. if youre always on clean surfaces then yeah probably not worth it but i got one after landing in some dusty areas and getting crap all over my gimbal. the pad keeps everything clean plus gives you a nice target to aim for when landing. got a cheap one off amazon for like 15 bucks and its been solid

I was skeptical too but they're actually pretty handy. Not just for keeping dust away - the bright orange helps with visibility when you're coming back from far out. Plus if you're flying somewhere with wet grass or sand it saves your drone from getting messy. The double sided ones are nice cause you can flip to different colors depending on the ground
