Best mini series for someone who's never flown before

  • Members

hey everyone, complete newbie here and thinking about getting my first drone. been looking at the mini series since they seem popular but theres so many versions now... mini 2, mini 3, mini 4k, se versions, i'm totally lost. my budget is probably around 400-500 and i mainly want something for travel photos and maybe some basic video stuff. dont need anything too crazy just something reliable that wont crash into everything while im learning

honestly for a first timer i'd go with the mini 2. its proven reliable, tons of tutorials online, and you can find good deals on them now that the newer models are out. the mini 3 is nice but probably overkill for starting out and the mini se is kinda limited. mini 2 hits that sweet spot of good features without being overwhelming

I started with a Mini SE last year and wished I had gotten the Mini 2 instead. The SE doesn't have obstacle avoidance which would of saved me from a few close calls when I was learning. For travel the Mini 2 is perfect size and the camera quality is really good for the price range your looking at
