so this has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. im flying my mini 3 pro and it just randomly drops the video feed and sometimes the whole connection for like 2-3 seconds then comes back. doesnt happen every flight but maybe every other flight. usually happens around 400-500ft out which is not far at all, ive had this thing way further without issues before.

at first i thought it was interference from the neighborhood wifi but ive switched to 5.8ghz on the RC2 controller and it still happens. wind has been mild when it occurs. batteries are fine, firmware is up to date. i did notice it seems worse when i fly near the park down the street which has those big overhead power lines running along the edge. could that be it? or is something actually wrong with the unit

power lines are 100% worth suspecting. ive had similar dropouts flying near a substation once and the EMI coming off high voltage lines can absolutely trash your 2.4 and 5.8 link depending on how close you are. the RC2 uses occusync 3 which is pretty resilient but its not magic. try flying somewhere with zero overhead infrastructure and see if it reproduces. if the problem goes away you basically have your answer.

also worth checking if any of the RC2 antennas got slightly bent or repositioned. the orientation actually matters more than most people think and if one got knocked sideways in your bag or something the diversity switching can get weird at range. the antennas on those should be perpendicular to each other and pointing up and to the side when youre holding it normally.

had the exact same thing happen and it turned out my phone was the issue weirdly enough. i was using an older device and it kept trying to hand off between wifi networks in the background and that was creating just enough noise on 5.8 to cause micro dropouts. switched to the RC2 standalone without a phone attached and it got way better. probably not your issue since youre using the RC2 native but worth mentioning
