so anyway i finally dragged myself to one of the local club meetups after being in this hobby for like two years flying completely solo and wow i kind of wish i did it sooner. dude there, older guy, had this tricked out long range setup and just walked me through his whole antenna situation for like 20 minutes, stuff i wouldve never figured out from youtube. also just seeing how other people fly in person is different than watching videos, you notice little throttle habits and how they position themselves and stuff. idk its hard to explain but if youve been putting off going to one of these things just go

totally agree, i leraned more in one afternoon at a club field than months of reading forums. no offense to forums lol. the hands on stuff and just watching experienced pilots is huge

ehh depends on the club honestly. the one near me is like 80% retirees flying warbirds and they kind of look at you sideways if you show up with a quad. not unwelcoming exactly but def not my scene. had to drive 45 min to find a group that actually flies what im into
