Mini 4 Pro vs Air 3 ? actually worth the price difference?

  • Members

ok so ive been going back and forth on this for like two weeks now and i cant decide. my budget is kind of flexible but not unlimited and im trying to figure out if the Air 3 is actually worth the extra couple hundred bucks over the Mini 4 Pro or if thats just marketing doing its thing.

for context i mostly fly landscape stuff, some light travel, occasionally shoot video for friends doing small events but nothing professional. i dont need obstacle avoidance to be insane but having it there is nice. the Mini 4 Pro seems like it covers basically everything i need but every time i watch a comparison the Air 3 looks just a little better in low light and that dual camera thing is tempting.

anyone who has actually flown both or switched from one to the other ? what would you do? not looking for spec sheet stuff i can google that, just real opinions from people who actually use these things

had the Mini 4 Pro for about eight months before i got to fly my buddy's Air 3 for a weekend and honestly? for what you're describing i dont think the Air 3 is a must-have. the low light difference is real but its not like night and day unless youre really pushing it into dark situations. the dual camera on the Air 3 is genuinely useful if you do a lot of zoom work but for landscapes and travel the Mini 4 Pro footage is just lovely, really hard to complain about it.

the weight thing matters more than people admit too ? taking the mini through airports and into certain parks is just way less stress. if youre on the fence and the price difference is meaningful to you id go Mini 4 Pro and not look back. spend the difference on ND filters and a good bag.

i went Air 3 and dont regret it but im also shooting stuff where the medium tele lens actually gets used regularly. if youre doing wide landscape shots most of the time that second camera just sits there doing nothing lol. so yeah kind of depends on how you actually fly more than anything else
