so this is maybe a weird question but bear with me. i still have my Mavic 2 Pro and it works perfectly fine, hasnt had any major issues, still shoots great Hasselblad-tuned footage and i genuinely love flying it. but ive had it for a few years now and everyone keeps telling me i should upgrade and im starting to wonder if im just being resistant to change or if they have a point.

ive looked at the Mavic 3 Pro and the Air 3 mostly. the triple camera setup on the Mavic 3 Pro is obviously impressive but thats also a significant chunk of money. obstacle avoidance on the newer stuff is leaps ahead of what my Mavic 2 can do, i know that. transmission is better too. but the actual image quality jump ? is it that big? like genuinely asking people who came from the M2P specifically because i feel like a lot of reviewers dont actually compare to older gear they just compare to each other.

im not in a rush, just trying to figure out if its worth saving up for or if i should just keep flying what i have until it dies on me

came from M2P to Mavic 3 Classic about a year ago and i'll be honest with you ? the image quality jump is noticeable but its not like going from a potato to a cinema camera. where you WILL feel the difference is the transmission range and reliability, the obstacle avoidance is genuinely in another league, and the RC controller with the built in screen is just so much nicer to use day to day. if your M2P is working fine and you mostly fly in open areas without worrying too much about trees and stuff... you could absolutely keep flying it. the footage still holds up.

that said once i flew the 3 Classic i didnt really want to go back. its one of those things where you dont know what youre missing until you have it. the low light performance in particular is quite a bit cleaner.

honestly if it aint broke dont fix it, thats my take. the Mavic 2 Pro images still look incredible and clients arent going to suddenly reject your footage because its not from a drone. upgrade when something actually breaks or when you hit a real limitation in your work, not because the internet says its time
