EVO II Pro keeps losing connection mid flight, driving me crazy

  • Members

so this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its my unit or something i'm doing wrong. flying my EVO II Pro and ill be maybe 400-500 feet out, not even that far, and the feed just drops. comes back after a few seconds usually but it's happened like four times in the last two sessions and now im nervous to push it any further.

im on the stock controller, haven't modded anything. the area im flying isnt super congested, it's mostly open fields near my place. updated firmware last month i think. anyone had this or know what to look for first?

check your controller antennas first, sounds dumb but make sure they're oriented correctly relative to where the drone is. the EVO II uses the SkyLink transmission system and it can be a bit finicky compared to OcuSync. the antennas should be perpendicular to the aircraft not pointed directly at it, a lot of people get this backwards and wonder why they're getting dropouts.

also worth checking if theres any interference from your phone if you have it mounted on the controller. some phones put out enough noise to mess with the 2.4/5.8 signal. try switching frequency bands in the app too if you havent, sometimes 2.4 is cleaner in your area and sometimes 5.8 is, just depends on whats around you.

mine did somthing similar after a firmware update and i had to do a full controller re-binding and recalibration to sort it out. not saying thats definitely your issue but it fixed it for me. the Autel forums on their official site also have a decent troubleshooting thread for the EVO II signal stuff if you havent dug into those yet
