so i've been following the whole remote ID situation pretty closely since it rolled out and now theres apparently more rulemaking in the pipeline for beyond visual line of sight operations. saw a few articles this week about it. feels like every few months theres something new to read through and honestly i never know what actually affects me as a recreational flyer vs what's aimed at commercial operators doing package delivery stuff

anyone here been following the BVLOS stuff closely? im mostly flying fpv in fields and occasionally doing some casual aerial video of hiking trails so i dont think most of it touches me directly but i always get a little nervous when i see FAA news in case something changes for where i fly

yeah the BVLOS rulemaking is mostly aimed at commercial operators, at least for now. companies like Wing and Amazon have been pushing hard for clearer pathways to get those ops approved at scale. as a rec flyer doing fpv in open fields you're pretty much insulated from all that for the moment

the thing i'd keep an eye on is any updates to the recreational flyer fixed sites list and whether your local flying club is still on it if you use one. that's the stuff that actually bites people day to day. remote ID compliance is also worth double checking if you're flying anything that doesnt have it built in ? enforcement has been pretty light so far but that could change
