this has been bugging me for a while and i finally got fed up enough to post about it. my RC2 controller ? the one with the built in screen ? keeps dropping signal or showing weak signal warnings at like 400-500 meters which seems ridiculous for O3+. i know range specs are under ideal conditions and whatever but this feels off. im in a semi-rural area, no obvious interference sources nearby that i can think of.

ive already tried recalibrating, updated firmware on both the controller and the bird, even did a full unlink and relink. still happens pretty consistently. the weird thing is sometimes it works totally fine and i can push to 800m with no issues at all, but then the next flight same spot it starts warning me at like 450. i dont get it. running it with a Mini 4 Pro if that matters. starting to wonder if its a hardware issue or if theres something environmental im missing

Had something similar and it turned out to be my phone's wifi interfering through the USB connection even though the screen is built in ? worth checking if you have your phone connected for anything. Also are you keeping the antennas on the controller pointed correctly? I know it sounds obvious but the RC2 antennas should be perpendicular to the drone not pointing at it, a lot of people get this wrong and it tanks your range something stupid. Not saying you dont know this just covering the basics first.

the inconsistency you're describing is actually kind of a red flag to me. if it were just limited range id say environment or antennas but random good days and bad days at the same location... i had a controller that did this and it ended up being a loose internal antenna connection. it was basically intermittent contact inside the housing. DJI Care sorted it out but it took a while. might be worth logging a support ticket sooner rather than later if the basic fixes havent helped
