so this has been bugging me for a while but it happened again yesterday and now im actually worried. im flying along normally, smooth conditions, maybe 5-6mph wind at most, and out of nowhere the drone just kind of snaps 90 degrees to the side like something took over the controls briefly. not a full spin, just this one sudden yaw movement and then it carried on like nothing happened. happened twice in the past month. im on the latest firmware, using the standard RC controller not the smart one.

checked my props and they all look fine, no visible damage. i calibrated the IMU a few weeks ago. the logs probably show something but i havent dug into them yet with airdata or anything. anyone dealt with this before or know what im even looking at here.

definitely pull those logs into airdata UAV before you fly it again, that'll tell you a lot. sudden uncommanded yaw like that can sometimes be a compass interference issue, especially if youve been flying near anything with a lot of metal or electrical stuff around. did this happen in the same general area both times? also worth checking if there's any wobble in the motor shafts, like physically try to wiggle each one gently, sometimes a bearing starts going bad and it shows up as weird behavior before it gets obviously loud or vibratey.

ive seen people report similar stuff after a firmware update tbh. not saying that's definitely it but there was a period where a certain Air 2 firmware had some issues and a few people were getting weird flight behavior. might be worth checking the DJI forums or reddit to see if anyone else on the same firmware version noticed it around the same time as you. the log analysis is the right call though, youll probably see a spike in something that makes it obvious.
