this has been happening for a while now and its driving me insane. im maybe 300-400 feet out, nothing crazy, and ill get a signal warning and sometimes it just drops for a second before coming back. drone doesn't RTH or anything it just kind of wobbles and reconnects but obviously that's not ideal when youre trying to get a smooth shot.

i dont think its interference because ive had it happen in pretty open areas. running the stock controller, havent modified anything. the firmware is up to date as of like two months ago, might be a newer version out now i guess. tried switching between 2.4 and 5.8 ghz and honestly cant tell if one is better than the other in my area.

not sure if its the controller, the drone, or something with my phone. anyone had similar issues with the EVO II series

had almost the exact same thing with mine. turned out the issue was my phone case was partially blocking the antenna on the controller ? i know that sounds dumb but i had a thick case with a magnet in it and once i took it off the dropouts basically stopped. also worth checking if theres any apps running in the background on your phone eating up resources, i had Maps running once and it was doing something weird with the connection. if neither of those are it, check the Autel forums because theres a thread over there where someone traced a similar issue to a loose antenna connection inside the controller that they got replaced under warranty.

honestly 2.4ghz is almost always going to be more reliable at range even if 5.8 is theoretically faster, just more wall penetration and less sensitivity to distance. i'd stick to 2.4 and see if that helps. also yeah check for a firmware update, Autel has been pretty active with updates on the EVO II line and ive seen people mention connectivity fixes in the patch notes before. could also just be worth doing a full rebind of the controller to the drone if you havent tried that yet, sometimes thats all it takes
