so ive been going back and forth on this for like two months now and i keep changing my mind every time i read something new. currently renting both through a local shop just to get some actual hands on time but honestly its making the decision harder not easier lol

the mini 4 pro is obviously lighter and way easier to travel with, no registration headaches in most places, and the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance is legit impressive for the size. but every time i put the air 3 in the air i feel like the footage just has this extra something to it? the dual camera setup is really nice for switching perspectives without having to move the drone around

i do mostly landscape and some hiking trips so portability matters a lot but im not dragging this thing through customs every week either. would love to hear from people who actually had to pick one and stuck with it, not just spec comparisons because ive read every spec sheet on the internet at this point

had exactly this debate last spring and ended up keeping the air 3. for me it came down to the medium tele camera ? once you get used to having that 70mm equivalent focal length option you really dont want to go back to a single lens setup. shooting mountains and open landscapes it lets you compress distance in a way that the mini 4 pro just cant do even with digital zoom

that said if youre doing anything where you have to pack light or you fly in areas with strict weight regulations the mini 4 pro is genuinely hard to argue with. a buddy of mine does a lot of national park stuff and he swears by his and has zero regrets. i think honestly either choice is defensible, you just gotta decide what annoys you more ? lugging a bit more weight or giving up that second camera
