been flying freestyle for like 6 months now and my rolls are still super twitchy and uneven. sometimes it snaps too fast and sometimes it like hesitates halfway through. im running a 5inch with betaflight and ive messed with the rates so many times i dont even know what my actual rates are anymore lol. mostly trying to do split S and just basic rolls into power loops and none of it looks clean on the DVR. feels like a tune issue but honestly could be me. anyone else go through this phase or is my quad just cursed

yeah i went through exactly this, took me forever to realize my D term was way too high and it was causing that mid-roll hesitation thing. drop your D on roll and pitch a bit and see if that cleans it up. also honestly your rates might just be too aggressive for where you're at right now, theres no shame in backing them off until the muscle memory clicks

what props are you running? i had something similar and swapped from tri-blades to bi-blades and it felt way more floaty and easier to control through the roll. could be totally unrelated but worth trying if you havent already
