mini 4 pro firmware bricked my custom color profile??

  • Members

okay so this has been bugging me for a few days and im not sure if its actually the firmware or something else but here goes. updated to the latest firmware on my mini 4 pro last week, cant remember the exact version number but it was whatever dropped mid november, and now my D-Log M custom settings are just gone. not like reset to default, just gone. the profile slot is empty.

i had a whole thing set up with specific sharpness and color temp adjustments and obviously i didnt write them down because why would i be smart about anything. tried restoring and re-saving a new profile but it works fine, so its not broken, just annoying that i lost my original settings. is this a known thing or did i do something wrong with the update process? i did it through the fly app on my phone if that matters, not the assistant on desktop.

yeah firmware updates wiping custom image profiles is a known annoyance with DJI going back years, its not specific to this update. they basically dont guarantee those settings persist across major or even minor firmware pushes. should always export or screenshot your profile before updating, painful lesson but most of us learned it the same way. nothing you did wrong in the update process itself.

also worth noting some people have better luck doing updates through DJI assistant on desktop rather than the fly app, not sure if it actually changes anything but i've seen it mentioned enough times that i stick to desktop now out of habit.

same thing happened to me with my air 3 on a different update, thought i had messed up the drone somehow. spent way too long troubleshooting before someone told me it was just the firmware doing its thing. now i keep a notes file with all my settings. also unrelated but did you notice any change in the obstacle avoidance behavior after that update, mine felt slightly different but could be placebo
