finally picked up an EVO II Pro ? few things i wasnt expecting

so i came from a Mavic 2 Pro and honestly debated for like three months before pulling the trigger on the EVO II Pro 6K. figured id share some thoughts for anyone else going back and forth on it.

the camera is genuinely impressive and the 6K footage when you nail the exposure is just... yeah its good. but the thing that surprised me was how different the flight feel is. its a bit heavier in the wind than i expected and the obstacle avoidance feels less confident than what i was used to on the Mavic. not bad, just different. you kind of have to re-learn trusting it.

also the Autel Sky app has gotten way better than the last time i tried it a year ago but its still not as polished as DJI GO 4. little things like the way the camera settings menu works just feels slightly clunky. still usable, just takes some getting used to.

one thing i did not expect to love is how much i like the orange color for keeping visual line of sight. sounds dumb but it genuinely helps especially at dusk. anyway happy to answer questions if anyone is considering the switch, been flying it for about two months now.

the obstacle avoidance thing is real. i noticed the same thing coming from a Mini 3 ? the EVO II sensors work but they stop you way earlier than you'd expect sometimes and then other times i feel like it cuts it a bit close lol. i just leave it on basic mode and fly a bit more conservatively now, works fine that way.

also totally agree on the orange thing. my buddy could not figure out why i kept talking about it until he flew his dark grey phantom next to mine and lost it against a treeline for a second. the visibility really does matter more than people think.

been thinking about this exact switch actually. one thing i keep reading about is the remote ? how are you finding the smart controller situation? i know Autel has their own controller with a built in screen but i cant tell if its worth the extra cost or if its just marketing stuff. the DJI smart controller spoiled me honestly.
