so ive been using Litchi for like two years now and honestly thought it was the gold standard for waypoint stuff but a buddy keeps telling me to try Dronelink and i finally sat down with it last weekend. first impressions are... complicated. the interface feels way more powerful but also way more overwhelming and i kept second guessing myself before launching anything.

the mission hub on Dronelink is cool in theory but i spent 45 minutes just trying to figure out how to set a proper gimbal curve between two waypoints that wouldve taken me maybe 5 minutes in Litchi. maybe im just not used to it yet. but also some of the things Dronelink does natively ? like proper conditional actions and component behavior ? Litchi just cant do at all so i get why people switch.

anyone made the full jump and actually stuck with Dronelink long term? specifically using it with a Mini 3 Pro if that matters. curious if the learning curve actually flattens out or if its always kind of fiddly.

yeah the learning curve is real but it does flatten. took me probably 3 or 4 full weekends of messing with it before i stopped feeling lost. the thing that clicked for me was watching a couple of the tutorial videos from the Dronelink youtube channel ? not glamorous advice i know but they actually explain the component system in a way that makes the logic make sense.

once you get your head around how behaviors and components stack together its genuinely more flexible than anything else ive used. i do commercial inspection work and the conditional stuff alone is worth the subscription. Litchi was fine for cinematic waypoint stuff but for anything where i needed real logic in the mission it just wasnt there. still keep it installed though for quick simple missions when i dont want to think too hard.

i tried dronelink once and gave up after like an hour tbh. went back to litchi and never looked back. might revisit it someday but life's short lol
