so anyway i finally got to fly somewhere actually worth filming. spent two weeks driving the ring road and had my fpv and the mavic 3 classic both with me. the landscapes are just insane, like nothing transfers to footage properly but you still end up with stuff that looks unreal. waterfalls, lava fields, that whole stretch near vik with the black sand beach.
the wind though. nobody warned me enough about the wind. lost a prop on the fpv on day 4 because i got cocky flying near one of the waterfalls and the downdraft just grabbed it. mavic handled it way better but even that thing was fighting hard some days. honestly if you're planning to go, bring way more spare props than you think you need and check the vedur.is weather site not just a normal weather app because it actually shows wind layers which mattered a lot for planning launches.
