Struggling with juicy flicks - my quad always eats dirt

  • Members

Hey everyone! Been flying for about 6 months now and trying to nail the juicy flick but I keep crashing. I can do the front flip fine, but when I try to roll immediately after to get that backwards momentum, I always overshoot and hit the ground. Anyone have tips on timing? I'm running pretty aggressive rates (700 deg/s roll) and wondering if I should dial it back. My P gains are at stock 45 but maybe I need more D for control?

Had the exact same problem when I started! Try doing the front flip and roll as one smooth motion rather than two separate inputs. Also drop your rates to like 500-600 deg/s while learning - you can always crank them back up later.

Dude I feel your pain! Still trying to smoothen all of it myself. What helped me was practicing at higher altitude first, then working my way down. Also make sure your throttle management is on point during the flip.
