so ive been studying for about 6 weeks now and i feel like i keep going in circles with the airspace stuff. like i get the basic class B C D E G breakdown but then i start reading practice questions and i second guess everything i thought i knew. especially the stuff about temporary flight restrictions and reading those sectional charts, i swear every time i look at one i see something different than what the answer key says.

i bought the Tony Northrup course and also been using the Prepware app which is decent i guess. doing maybe 50-60 practice questions a day but my scores are kind of plateauing around 78-80% and i need to feel more confident before i shell out the $175 for the actual test. anyone been through this recently, like in the last year or so? does the real test feel harder than the practice stuff or is it pretty comparable

the airspace stuff just clicks at some point, i promise. for me it was when i stopped trying to memorize the rules and actually started asking myself WHY each class exists, like who it's protecting and why the dimensions are what they are. once i did that the sectional charts started making way more sense.

i took mine about 8 months ago and honestly the real test felt slightly easier than the harder Prepware questions, but the weather and performance stuff tripped me up more than i expected. scored an 87 which i was happy with. just make sure you know your weather reports cold, the METARs and TAFs, that stuff comes up more than people warn you about. you'll be fine.

78-80% on prepware is probably fine tbh most people say you want to be consistently hitting like 85+ before you go in but i went in at around where you are and passed with a 82. the real questions are worded differently enough that your score will vary anyway. dont overthink it
