so this has been driving me nuts for about two weeks now. im flying my mini 3 pro with the RC-N1 controller and i keep getting these random disconnects, like the feed just cuts out for 2-3 seconds and then comes back. sometimes it doesnt come back and the drone just goes into RTH which is fine i guess but really annoying when im in the middle of a shot.

the weird thing is it doesnt seem to happen in open fields, only when im near my neighborhood which has a ton of wifi routers and probably a bunch of bluetooth stuff going on. ive tried switching between 2.4 and 5.8ghz manually but honestly i cant tell if its making a difference. its on the latest firmware too before anyone asks.

anyone else dealt with this or have any idea where to even start troubleshooting it? im not flying super far out either, usually within 300-400 meters so its not a range thing

yeah the 2.4ghz band is basically a warzone in any residential area at this point. every router, baby monitor, microwave, you name it. if you havent already go into the DJI fly app and look at the signal strength graph during flight, it should show you which channels are getting hammered. sometimes just manually locking it to a less congested channel on 5.8 makes a huge difference even if 5.8 has slightly less range. the RC-N1 doesnt have the greatest antenna setup anyway so youre kind of working against yourself in a dense RF environment.

also worth checking if your phone itself is causing issues, some android phones will randomly try to switch wifi networks mid-flight and that can drop the connection between the phone and the controller briefly which shows up as a video feed stutter. try putting your phone in airplane mode and then manually re-enabling bluetooth only, worked for a friend of mine with a similar setup.

had almost the exact same thing happen with mine a while back. turned out my neighbor had just installed one of those mesh wifi systems and it was just obliterating the 2.4 band. i switched to 5.8 and the disconnects basically stopped. you lose a bit of range but in a neighborhood youre not going far anyway so who cares
